The Music Project children participate in the FINALS "All Island Western Music Competition 2015"

Today is the - All Island Schools' Western Music Competition 2015 FINALS - The Music Project children from Yatiwala Sri Gunananda Vidyalaya KURUNEGALA, Mallavi Central College MALLAVI MULLAITIVU and Yogapuram MV MALLAVI MULLAITIVU (who got through to the finals 2 weeks ago) are here today at Nalanda College Colombo to perform (recorder catagory). We wish them all the very best and hope they will win first place !!

This is HUGE and this will definitely prove to all of our supporters - the importance of our project - and how it empowers children!!

Volunteering with the Music Project in Kurunegala has been a very worthwhile and enjoyable experience. During my time with the Project I have taught English in the mornings at a local school called Lakdasa College.

Then in the afternoons I travelled to several different schools with the Music Project itself to teach English, trumpet and recorder. The children are all very eager to learn which makes them a pleasure to teach.
